Why Practice the Misraim Service?

Misraim Service offers a special method of spiritual evolution. The origin of the spiritual work performed in the Temple is very ancient, dating back to the ancient Age of Atlantis, and in the Temple Service it is offered in a form suitable for our times.

Participating in the Misraim Service requires some practical training in order to perform the roles of officers during ceremonies, just as it requires some esoteric knowledge in order to be able to be aware of what takes place during ritual ceremonies.

For this reason, it is necessary to accompany the Temple Service with both the study of anthroposophical spirit science, particularly the Esoteric Lessons, and the practice of the 6 Fundamental Exercises and Imaginative Meditation.

The topics of the Esoteric Lessons that accompany the practice of Temple Service include the basic principles of Western esotericism, which we can summarize in a series of questions:

1. In what does Spiritual Evolution consist?

Today's initiatory path is based on the Ancient Mysteries, but at the same time differs from the ancient mystery initiations.

2. What are the Ancient Mysteries?

The ancient mystery traditions, allow us to better understand the foundation of today's initiatory path.

3. Who are the Great Initiates?

Since the time of Lemuria there have been among men great initiates, among the greatest Western initiates are Jesus-Zarathustra and Christian Rosenkreutz.

4. Who are the Spiritual Hierarchies?

The different Hierarchies have a role and action in man on the spiritual, soul and physical levels.

5. What are microcosm and macrocosm?

Esoteric knowledge is divided into the Minor Mysteries of the microcosm and Major Mysteries of the macrocosm.

6. Does Esotericism help in daily life?

Only that mystery wisdom that finds practical application in the actions of daily life has a purpose and benefits man.

7. In what does initiation consist?

Legends, in their imaginative content, have an impregnating quality in man, both on the soul level and on the emotional level. We will often refer to legends that have initiatory value for man.

8. What is the role of the ego?

In the Ancient Mysteries, initiations were essentially etheric and astral in nature, but now initiation must come from the spirit and true Ego of man. We will describe how the ego can address the spiritual rather than the physical-sensible.

9. What is an Astral Temple?

All temple work takes place in an "Astral" temple, which descends and incorporates into a physical-etheric temple.

10. What do the Symbols of the Temple mean?

The Astral Temple is adorned with real images of the transcendental world, called "symbols."

11. What is the purpose of Temple Service?

Temple Service is of value both to individuals and to the world and higher Hierarchies.

12. What is the purpose of Esoteric Meditation?

A Temple Service can never stand on its own. For a seed to grow, it must have something in which to grow. The Temple feeds on our meditations, the symbols feed on our studies and devotion.

13. What is the purpose of the Ritual?

The rituals of the "Astral" Temple are based on certain laws of the spiritual world.

15. What is the role of Man in the Cosmos?

Initiation with its stages of development is a fertilization of the human soul by the spirit which has the importance for the progress of humanity.

Spiritual evolution is the secret guarded by the Ancient Mysteries, whose initiates, from age to age, knew the role of man in the Cosmos and thus carried the cultural impulses necessary for the progress of humanity as a whole. Such Grand Initiates came into conscious contact with the Spiritual Hierarchies, perceiving their action in the World.

Rosicrucianism is the esoteric way inaugurated by Christian Rosenkreutz: the union of the Rose, that is, the current of the Ancient Mysteries, renewed in the light of Christ, the Cross. Anthroposophy, the Consciousness of Man, is the Science of Spirit given by Rudolf Steiner: "Anthroposophy is a way of knowledge that aims to lead the spirit that is in Man to the spirit that is in the Universe."

Thanks to the union of the Rosicrucian current and Anthroposophy in the Misraim Service, it is possible for us to walk the same path of knowledge as the Great Initiates of the past in a form suitable for present times. The ego, the spiritual individuality, is placed at the center of conscious development thus combining maximum freedom with maximum esotericism.

Esoteric Lessons consist of teachings on Western Esotericism of the Rosicrucian and Anthroposophical currents. Mantric verses written by Rudolf Steiner are also given during the Esoteric Lessons. Esoteric Lessons enable the Aspirant to become a Probationer on the path of Rosicrucian and Anthroposophical Esotericism.

Both Temple Services and degree initiations are practiced in the Temple.

Michael's Mass consists of a special dedicated Temple Service of the Archai of our Age, Michael. Specific Meditations are given to help the Disciple release thought from materiality and thus become spiritualized.

Finally, in order to access the Initiation ceremonies of the Misraim Service, one must first attend the Esoteric Lessons preparatory to the Temple Service.

An interview is required to request participation in the Esoteric Lessons and the Temple Service.
